1933 -1935 Crown Royal Bottle
So, the first item on my list of things to post about is my Crown Royal Bottle. For something that I asumed would be easy to look up, it has proven to be extremely elusive. Also, a lot of this is written from memory because the bottle in question is buried in my basement at the moment.
My first stop was the official Crown site to see if they had any information on historical bottles. It was a dead end. A Google image search showed many, many styles of bottles but nothing like this.
The label reads: Seagram's Crown Royal whiskies bottle
2 d-126 & a trademark
My next try was looking up the makers mark on the bottom of the bottle. Some how I eventually searched Google for 'bottle makers mark' which sent me to this site http://www.myinsulators.com/glass-factories/bottlemarks.html This was my first real lead for hunting down the history of this bottle.
Following the winding trail the company that made this particular bottle was known for making milk bottles. there was a very short time when bottle makers were forced to have that federal law quote on them because of prohibition. However I could not find more information beyond that.
The start of the insanity
Hello! I search garage sales, second hand stores and auction houses for things I consider collectables or items that other people might be looking for.
Recently I have started searching the internet for the history on some of the items. That information is what I will be posting here. Mostly because of the fact that it took me three hours to find information on an old Crown Royal bottle that I still haven't found out everything about.
So, these are the stories of my searches.
